How We Started
A Contractor You Can Actually Trust
Scott Valcourt started his company in 1996 after years of working and coming up through the ranks of another local builder and mentor. Along with his entrepreneurial spirit and appetite for risk, Scott began his journey focused on honest communication, skilled tradespeople, and a genuine commitment to the finished product.
What began as a one-man operation in Scituate has grown into a trusted team of architectural and engineering design consultants, project managers, framing and finish craftsmen, skilled mechanical tradesmen, and several other trades subcontractors — all united by the same values Scott started with. Valcourt Remodeling has completed over 220 projects across the South Shore, from single-room renovations to complete whole-home transformations.
By design, Valcourt Remodeling is not the biggest remodeling company on the South Shore. We pride ourselves on strict project controls and customer delivery. Intentionally selective about the projects we undertake, delivering on customer expectations and meeting established schedules are just some of the ways we measure our performance.

Scott Valcourt
Founder & Master Builder
With over 30 years of hands-on experience, Scott founded Valcourt Remodeling on a simple belief: that every homeowner deserves a contractor who treats their home with the same care they would their own. Over three decades in the trade, he has built deep expertise across every phase of a renovation — from structural framing and rough carpentry to finish work, tile, cabinetry, and project management. Scott has led hundreds of projects across Boston's South Shore, giving him an instinct for what works, what lasts, and how to solve problems before they become costly. His breadth of knowledge means he can speak to every trade on the job site and hold every aspect of a project to the same high standard.
Joseph Lori
Lead Carpenter
Joey specializes in structural framing and rough carpentry, with solid skills in basic finish work. From new additions to full gut renovations, he brings reliability and precision to every phase of the build.
Ray Zucker
Operations & Carpenter
With 25+ years across construction and land management consulting, Ray brings a rare depth of experience to Valcourt Remodeling. After military service, he began his career as a residential carpenter, earning his Construction Supervisor License and Journeyman Carpenter Certification. He went on to serve in the preconstruction department of a large commercial contractor specializing in interior finishes for hospitals, universities, stadiums, and corporate campuses. Later, as Director of West Coast Operations for a specialty contractor, he led the installation of Hygienic and Decorative Wall Panel Systems across the hospitality, healthcare, and educational industries. Prior to joining Valcourt, Ray spent seven years as Vice President of a consulting firm focused on land mitigation and conservation banking to help developers navigate project approvals. Today, he channels that construction and leadership experience into driving growth, operational efficiencies, and customer satisfaction at Valcourt Remodeling.
